In the semifinals of the 2025 FIBA Women's Asia Cup, China women's basketball team lost to Japan 81–90 in front of home spectators in Shenzhenand was eliminated from title contention. During the game, China made just 6 of 23 attempts from three-point range, with a shooting percentage of only 26%. They will face South Korea in the third-place playoff.
